Looking Back at 2024: Celebrating a Year of Hospitality and Welcoming 2025

As we get into the rhythm of the new year, we also wanted to take a moment to reflect on what a vibrant, bustling year it was at Capital Hotel Group in 2024, full of memorable celebrations shared with our restaurant and hotel guests at Pavilion on Northbourne, Avenue Hotel and Deco Hotel. Reminisce with us as we look back fondly on our standout moments last year and prepare for an exciting year ahead.

A Toast to 2024

From collaborations with one of Canberra’s most esteemed cultural attractions to value-packed giveaways and themed High Teas (remember our ‘Enchanted’ Taylor Swift tribute, anyone?), 2024 was bursting with activity. Here are some of the highlights:

Atrium Restaurant & Bar

At Pavilion on Northbourne

We served over 300 guests at our 10 High Teas throughout the year at Atrium, two of which featured iconic themes for an even more special and memorable experience.

In addition to these, we were proud to organise and host more than 320 events, including 20 weddings, functions, and school groups - a testament to the versatility of our event and dining spaces for celebrations of all kinds.

In November, we also saw the return of our iconic Melbourne Cup celebration, which saw a prolonged hiatus since before COVID-19. We brought it back with a bang, offering a delicious 3-course lunch, special drinks packages, live screenings, best-dressed competitions, lucky door prizes and live entertainment.

For Marble & Grain, 2024 was marked by new inspiring dishes that change with the seasons, memorable events, and collaborations with local producers, along with a curated selection of cocktails for every occasion, including Valentine’s Day, summer, and local celebrations like Floriade.

Three fascinating masterclasses were also hosted at Canberra’s premier steakhouse, including:

We also celebrated 10 years of Avenue Hotel in 2024. This decade not only reflects the incredible community and loyal guests who’ve been with us every step of the way. Here’s to the journey so far and look forward to the many years ahead.

At Deco Hotel

Restaurant Two14 celebrated its own milestones, including an exquisite regional Italian lunch showcasing the flavours of Campania. A special event in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy during Italian Cuisine Week further highlighted our commitment to authentic culinary experiences.

2024 also marked the 5th anniversary of Deco Hotel, a memorable milestone and opportunity to reflect on and express our gratitude for the successes over the last half-decade.

Capital Hotels

Our immersion and contribution to Canberra’s hospitality scene extends beyond our restaurants. In 2024, we partnered with the National Gallery of Australia for two unique exhibition packages and two engaging competitions, further enriching the cultural landscape of our city.

Atrium's monthly High Teas continue: Now a monthly tradition, our popular High Teas return for afternoons of elegance and indulgence.
New addition - Monthly Family Buffet Lunch: This year, we will be hosting a delicious family buffet lunch every month at the Atrium. Gather the family and come with an appetite - from savoury entrees and fresh salads to hearty mains and irresistible desserts, you’re bound to go back for seconds (or thirds!).
Celebrations for every occasion: From Valentine’s Day to Christmas and the occasions between, our special events - thoughtfully put together by our incredibly creative and talented team - will continue, offering fantastic experiences to celebrate with loved ones.
Enhanced event support: We're always reflecting on how we can elevate our services. In 2025, we plan to provide even greater support to customers planning their own events, making the process even more streamlined and stress-free.
